Many of us believe that regenerative farming is the way forward for the food and farming industry. However, others feel that the word ‘regenerative’ is becoming just another buzzword and should be regulated.
Yeo Valley Organic’s own Will Mayor, Farms Development Manager, recently shared his thoughts with Speciality Food Magazine on exactly this topic in their special report, Is regenerative agriculture the future of farming in Britain?
Will’s view is: “Regenerative agriculture and organic both share a common goal for showing how we, as farmers and custodians of the soil, can be part of the solution—sequestering carbon, improving water and air quality, boosting biodiversity, and producing great food to nourish people. We’re really excited by all the new energy and investment into the regenerative farming movement in the UK and around the world. It has huge potential to positively impact our food production systems.”
