What will I be doing?

Yeo Valley Farms is in a fantastic location based in North Somerset, twenty-five minutes from Bristol, Bath, the M5 and Bristol Airport.

You will be working within the farms business that operates over the 800 Ha estate and includes enterprises such as Dairy, Beef, Sheep, Properties (commercial and residential) and Arable. Your role will be diverse with new and existing projects in all areas of the business.

A key aspect of the role is helping the development of the farms Regenerative Organic Farming system. This will involve being at the cutting edge of the regenerative movement scoping, trialling and implementing practises to a commercial farm level. Our farm’s goal is to produce real and natural healthy food whilst nurturing people and planet.

Key tasks:

  • Assistance on farm and estate related projects
  • Infrastructure development and replacement
  • Farm System Management
  • Farming practices e.g. Next Level Grazing
  • Assisting in the development of our Regenerative Organic farming system
  • Gather business requirements from stakeholders and work with the internal teams
  • Obtain cost quotes and order services & equipment.
  • Creation of Risk Assessments, Job Breakdown Sheets and CDM documentation.
  • Project site visits – progress reports and documentation.
  • Record keeping of key performance indicators to monitor project outcomes.
  • Interaction with and coordination of project contactors.

Sounds interesting, what do I need?

You will need to be willing to get stuck into projects assisting wherever required. It is desirable that you have a passion for agriculture or have an real interest in food production system and are willing to learn.

The successful candidate will:

  • Dependable, organised and ability to prioritise workload efficiently.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative as well as supporting the team.
  • Possess excellent IT, strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge & Confidence in using Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel office and bespoke cloud based software packages.
  • Demonstrate a flexible, collaborative, and adaptive approach to work.
  • Possess a full clean driving licence.

Desirable

  • Experience with Health and Safety i.e. risk assessments.
  • Grant application experience
